Heauxlistic Juice Bar

“Born in the heart of Detroit, we are more than just a juice bar—we're a movement. At Heauxlistic, we believe that wellness should never be boring. Our cold-pressed raw juices, smoothies, and nutritious bites are packed with flavor and life. With every sip and bite, we’re on a mission to make healthy living not just easy, but exciting.” Monique Davis, owner of Heauxlistic Juice Bar, has been churning out beautiful bottles of raw juice for over 5 years. 1. Why and how did you decide to start a food business?

I actually started juicing for my family. My son and daughter were dealing with eczema and psoriasis, and I was looking for healthier options for us. Later, juicing also became part of my own wellness journey through menopause. From there, it grew into something bigger, and I realized I wanted to make healthier options more accessible in our communities.

2. How long have you been in business?

I’ve been in business for six years. It started small, and over the years I’ve been able to grow into farmers markets, catering, corporate and community events, and wholesale.

3. How has owning a business changed now from when you first got started?

When I first started, I was just focused on making good juice and getting people to try it. Now I’m looking at the bigger picture—growing production, building partnerships, expanding the business, and eventually opening a brick-and-mortar location.

4. Can you please tell us about your signature items?

One of my signature juices is Beet It Up. It’s made with apple, red beet, carrot, and ginger. Even people who say they don’t like beets are usually surprised by how good it tastes! It’s naturally sweet, has a little kick from the ginger, and like all of my raw juices, there’s no added sugar or water.

Heauxlistic Juice Bar offers a literal rainbow of choices.

5. How has utilizing the food business programming and/or incubator kitchen in Eastern Market impacted your growth as a business?

Eastern Market has been a big part of my growth. It has helped me get my products in front of so many different people and build relationships within the food community. Now, having access to the incubator kitchen gives me another resource to help increase production and take on bigger opportunities.

6. Do you have advice for future food business entrepreneurs?

Just start. You’re not going to know everything in the beginning, and that’s okay. I’ve learned so much by doing, making mistakes, asking questions, and figuring things out along the way. Take advantage of the resources around you, know your numbers, and always remember why you started.

Heauxlistic juice is also available to cater! Head to the website for more information on how to have Heauxlistic at your next event!
